About Formula 6000

Formula 6000 Botanicals is a team of skilled professionals dedicated to creating the most eco-friendly spider repellent available. Our aim? To bring spiders away from where you don’t want them, allow them to live, and in the process, make your life that little bit more safe, comfortable, and pleasant.

This is a botanical in function.

We use only the highest quality botanical oil and emulsifiers in our product, Formula 6000, such as essential oil, water, and a vegetable-based mixing agent. What’s more, our gifted botanists have made sure to exceed industry standards for our peppermint oil repellent so you can be sure that our heart and soul goes into each bottle of the long-lasting Formula 6000 we make.

The idea for Formula 6000 came about when a stubborn spider refused to leave our founder’s driver’s-side mirror. He’d remove the web, hose the area down with water, but week after week, the web reappeared. He ended up naming his uninvited guest “Carlotta” (because she stayed in his car a “lotta” time.) Even a car wash later, the spider web, once again, appeared on his mirror. (Carlotta Spider was stubborn). Time to research the issue. It turns out, there is a virtual labyrinth of nooks and crannies behind a car mirror–so many hiding places for the wayward Carlotta. Thankfully, research indicated a 4% peppermint solution would be sufficient to interfere with the spider’s receptors and cause Carlotta to relocate to more productive pastures.

A couple of peppermint sprays was all it took. Carlotta Spider was gone and the idea for a useful product was born. When we created Formula 6000, we increased the peppermint oil content to over 6%. We wanted to offer you a supremely effective and long-lasting solution. Each 2-ounce (60 ml) bottle of Formula 6000 gives you over 450 spray puffs–more than adequate for home or auto use.
